HOW TO REACH THE SYMPOSIUM SITE

 
City centre is reserved for pedestrians and public means of transportation. The University Main Building can be reached either on foot or by bus. We therefore suggest you to park your car outside the historical centre. From the railway station take bus n° 3 direction “Montebolone” and stop at Corso Mazzini. Bus tickets are available at tobacconists and main newspaper sellers.

LANGUAGES

 
The official language of the Symposium is English.
Simultaneous translation into/from Italian will be available. 

EXHIBITION

 
A medical and scientific exhibition will take place during the Symposium.

MdE Secretariat desk will be opened on September 2nd from 10 am, until the end of the Symposium.

Registration fees:

• Regular Participant: € 300 before May 30th, and € 400 after May 30 th

• Accompanying person € 150

• Student € 125 before May 30 th, and € 150 after May 30 th

• One day registration € 150

All costs are VAT exempted. A regular receipt will be given at the Secretariat Desk.

Registration fee includes:

• Identification badge, which is needed to access the Conference and Exhibition hall

• Volume of abstracts

• Certificate of attendance

• Coffee breaks

• Welcome Party

• Social dinner, September 3th: It can be booked at the cost of € 50. Availability is limited, early booking is recommended.

Important note:
No badge – no entry.
Lost badges can only be replaced upon a handling fee of € 50, providing proof of the original registration.

ACCOMMODATION

 
Finding an accommodation in Pavia could not be easy. Early booking is strongly recommended.
Accommodation cannot be assured for requests after May 30 th
Rooms are available in 4-star and 3-star Hotels and in University Colleges.

• 4-star Hotels B&B costs range: € 100 to 110 for a single room, € 130 to 140 for a double room

• 3-star Hotels B&B costs range: € 60 to 90 for a single room, € 80 to 120 for a double room.

Hotel booking will be confirmed upon receipt of a credit card as a guarantee. Payment should be settled directly at the Hotel.

Deposit: € 100 per room in a 4-star Hotel, € 60 per room in a 3-star Hotel, to be paid in advance.

• University Colleges: € 40 for a single room with bathroom, without breakfast.

For College accommodation full advance payment (including booking fee) is requested.
Booking fee per room: € 10 before May 30 th, and € 25 after May 30 th to be paid in advance.

Payment should be made in Euros for the total amount due, in one of the following forms:

  For protection with credit card payments, we suggest you to download the form and send it by fax or regular mail. Please provide the full number (16 digits) and the expiry date (month/year) on the form.

• Deadline for abstracts submission: May 30 th.

• Deadline for reduced registration fee and accommodation requests: May 30 th

CANCELLATIONS AND REFUND POLICY

 
The Organising Secretariat must be informed in writing of all cancellations and claims for refunds before August 1st. Cancellations received after August 1st will not be reimbursed. Refunds will be processed after the Symposium.
The amount will be refunded less a handling fee of € 75.

WEATHER
Weather in Pavia in September is usually mild and sunny. Please do not forget to take a warm jacket and a raincoat, as evenings may be cool. Dressing will be informal during the Symposium, however formal dressing is recommended for the social dinner.

VARIATIONS
The Scientific and Organising Secretariats reserve the right to make any necessary changes to the program for technical and/or organisation reasons.

Please download and fill in the registration form and send it to the Congress Secretariat either by mail, by fax or as attached file by e-mail. Please carefully follow any given instruction and check for any spelling or typing mistakes. You are kindly requested to fill in the e-mail address box, as it will make any subsequent communication easier. If you prefer to use the paper form, please take your time to use capital letters and thoroughly complete all fields. 

PAYING

 
You may pay your inscription in different ways: sending a nominative cheque, using a bank transfer or paying with your credit card. You will have to fill in the corresponding boxes. 

WHAT COVERS REGISTRATION

 
The inscription will entitle delegates for:
Identification badge: You will need to wear it inside the Congress Venue and it might be requested to access Scientific Events and the Technical and Commercial Exhibition.
Tickets for coffee breaks
Social event after opening ceremony
Certificate of attendance 

WHEN?

 
You may register any time prior to opening day or directly at the meeting Secretariat Desk. There is a special rate for inscriptions arriving before May 30, 2004.
Inscriptions after this date will only be possible on site at the Secretariat Desk in the Congress Venue. Please take note that the registration on site will be charged for an extra fee (see below). 

 REGISTRATION FEE CANCELLATIONS

 
The registration fee will be refunded with 75 euros deduction, provided that written notice is received before August 1st, 2004. No refunds will be made for cancellations after this date, although name substitutions will be accepted at any time. Any refund will be made after the meeting.
